Frank Navetta, the founding guitarist of the legendary punk band The Descendents, passed away on Friday after a sudden bought of illness. Little has officially been released, but punk rock lost a legend on Friday. The statement from The Descendents official site reads:

Norman Whitfield, one of the most noted songwriters and producers for Motown Records in the early years, died on Tuesday at Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre.
