New Bob Dylan in April! Likely Won’t Be Touring With U2
Dylan’s latest studio recording was Modern Times, which may have been his most interesting album in over a decade. Since then there have been a few scattered tours, and not a whole lot from Dylan himself. There was the Todd Haynes film I’m Not There, the documentary Inside Bob Dylan’s Jesus Years, The new Bootlegs Series disc Tell Tale Signs, etc. etc. The endless iconology of Dylan.
Now, word is, there is going to be another Dylan studio album. In an article for Rolling Stone David Fricke reveals that he has had the opportunity to preview the new disc, and he loves it. (Of course he did, I have no doubt it will be good, but of course he did.) In classic Dylan style there is little fanfare about the release. No title yet, no official release date, only “late April.” The subtitle to the article describes the disc as a “dark…disc with a bluesy border-town feel.” A few of the song titles include: “I Feel a Change Coming On”, “Beyond Here Lies Nothin’”, “If You Ever Go to Houston”, “This Dream of You”, “My Wife’s Home Town”, “It’s All Good.”
