It’s Eddie Argos Day at Favorite 10 (Frank Black and Art Brut?)

As long as we are talking about the Free Glam Chops Christmas single, I thought I’d mention that Mr. Argos post some interesting news at his blog over the Thanksgiving Day weekend (the blog is called The Eddie Argos Resource).

It seems that Art Brut is working on putting out a new album, and they have written over twenty songs already. But most interestingly is the announcement that Pixies luminary Frank Black will be producing the album. !!. Frank Black and Art Brut seems like an almost dream like combination. Quoth Argos via his blog:

Im glad that it was finally in the NME that we’re recording with Frank Black. I don’t know why we were keeping it a secret. I’m rubbish with secrets. I was thinking about trying to put anybody off that asked me out right if the Pixies legend Frank Black was producing our next album by telling them that they must have mis-heard and in fact the legendary Pixie Geldof was. Im glad I didnt have to stoop that low to hide our secret.

The band has been playing some of the new tunes in their scattered live shows. Song titles are just as tongue-in-cheek as one might expect: Alcoholics Unanimous, Summer Job, Art Brut Versus Satan, Rebellious Henchman, Moved To LA (likely something of a sequel to “Moving to L.A.”) and DC Comics And Chocolate Milkshake.
