LCD Soundsystem Frontman Writes Albums IN HIS HEAD
James Murphy, frontman of LCD Soundsystem is a secretive soul, so it seems. In an interview with the NME he squashed rumours that the group were nearing the end, by revealing that he has already written eight tracks for the new album. However, no demos will be rearing their heads online anytime soon, as Murphy keeps the tracks under strict supervision…
in his head.
“I get to a point where there are too many songs and I have to get them recorded. I recently felt that. I’ve got eight in my head – that’s critical mass.”
When he does decide to record, Murphy will embark on a secret squirrel endevour alone, not telling anybody.
When I start recording I don’t tell anyone not even my manager,”
Perhaps his secrecy is why the LCD guitarist never has much to report on the bands’ status, hence hacks jumping to the ‘break-up’ conclusion.
