Bon Iver Set New American Dates This Winter
Bon Iver have announced a handful of dates in Europe and America right at the end of 2008 and we couldn’t be happier about this.
Said by many before me I’m sure, Bon Iver is perfect weather for the turning of the seasons - Summer to Fall, Fall to Winter, Winter to Spring especially (and in that order). After the release of For Emma, Forever Ago, Justin Vernon won himself many fans, fascinated by the beautiful music that was born out of accident. He said it himself,
“It wasn’t planned. The goal was to hibernate.”
and don’t we all need some music created out of the intent to hibernate and pure, unadulterated isolation for the coming months? Of course we do. Check out his American dates below which end, of course, in Wisconsin.
Bon Iver Tour Dates
12-10 New York, NY – Town Hall
12-11 New York, NY – Town Hall
12-14 Boston, MA – Wilbur Theatre
12-15 Philadelphia, PA – Trocadero
12-18 Chicago, IL – The Vic
12-19 Madison, WI – Barrymore Theatre
And for good measure…

Dammit, you can’t schedule a date in philly on the same night as Monday Night Football with Eagles-Browns!
Although I guess most people who would go to this concert wouldn’t care about the Eagles. But I do. I do, dammit.

This blows. I wanted to see him in less than equator level temperatures and then he decides to come to Philly on a night where he gets trumped. It’s rare that he would be trumped by another event but Eagles MNF is one.

Steve – I have tickets to see Rachael Yamagata next Wednesday. I’m a big Rachael fan but that is also game 6 of the World Series.
Let’s hope the series only goes 5 games (with the Phils winning of course.) Then I don’t have any decisions to make.
