Guns ‘n’ Roses Pen Exclusivity Deal with Best Buy
You know things are going well for a band when they are less popular than the government’s bailout of Wall Street. Yet, for some reason, everyone has been talking about Chinese Democracy for the entirety of the Bush Administration. Billboard is now reporting that the long awaited (though I’m not sure who is waiting for it. Are you? I don’t really give a damn, though it’s kind of fun to watch) album from Axl Rose’s new Guns ‘n’ Roses will hit shelves this year.
The album will be exclusively released through Best Buy stores. This is more likely than not an attempt by the label to recoup at least a little bit of the most expensive album ever made. Rose and co. have taken so long on this record, and rerecorded so many times that Chinese Democracy is reported to be the most expensive album ever made, and it is likely to be as big of a bomb as Waterworld (remember that?). Best of luck Axl, and I hope I never hear it.

If it’s anywhere near decent, people will buy it up because GnR rocked so hard in the early nineties. If Axl’s voice isn’t shot (and we won’t know that on record) then the tour will gross a gajillion dollars too. Look at AC/DC’s tour. They are selling out in minutes everywhere.
I will definitely be checking out Chinese Democracy, just because of curiousity rather than any expectations of it being a great record.
