Muxtape unravels (just a little)

The free file sharing-ish music site Muxtape has encounter some resistance from the RIAA. The site posted a note on their tumblr page Wednesday reading, “Muxtape will be unavailable for a brief period while we sort out a problem with the RIAA.” The site has also claimed that it is not down indefinitely, and that no labels or artists are currently filing any complaints. The issue is solely with the RIAA at large.

The site is standing by it’s assertion that the site is a source for listeners to discover new music - language which the RIAA surely likes, while you and I are wise to their game. Their beta version of Muxtape for Bands is however unaffected by the current hold-up.
