‘It Might Get Loud’ Documentary To Premiere In Toronto

Academy Award winner Davis Guggenheim’s highly anticipated documentary It Might Get Loud will premiere at this years Toronto International Film Festival.

The documentary focuses on the history of the electric guitar via three of it’s most dedicated aficionados - Jimmy Page, The Edge and Jack White - who get together one day to tell of their journeys in music and of how all three of them came to create their own unique sound with the instrument within three very distinct and different eras. It Might Get Loud will also feature material from each guitarist and was filmed in London, Dublin, Nashville and LA.

While us plebs wait fervently for the DVD release, we can attempt to soothe the anticipation by revealing to you one of the most exciting scenes of the doc. It’s like Christmas come early here at F10, but a little less exciting…

“One of the most exciting scenes in the movie shows Jimmy Page, The Edge and Jack White are all sitting together talking about their influences. Jimmy Page pulls out a Link Wray record, The Edge pulls out a Sex Pistols record and Jack White pulls out Dex Romweber’s band Flat Duo Jets Go-Go Harlem Baby record and acknowledges Dex’s influence on his music. Jack White recently said of Dex Romweber, “Dex Romweber was and is a huge influence on my music. I owned all of his records as a teenager, and was thrilled at the fact that we were able to play together recently on tour. His attitude towards music is remarkable. His songwriting, along with his love of classic American music from the south, be it rockabilly, country or R&B, is one of the best kept secrets of the rock n roll underground.”
