Baltimore Round Robin All Shored Up

Dan Deacon’s fall spectacular will be hitting the road for seventeen days in October. The Baltimore Round Robin will feature 29 bands and over 60 musicians, all traveling together on a veggie powered bus (or two). Deacon has been working on this throughout the summer, collecting a hodge podge of hometown boys to take to the road for his crazy Round Robin.

Which, despite the fact that no one is actually sure what a round robin is, this will not be a standard show it will in fact be a round robin. The bands will line up around the sides of the room, with the audience in the middle, and each group will play one song, and then the next plays, all day. Something that probably only Deacon and his stoner Baltimore friends would think is a good idea, but I’m currently being sold on the idea.

The collection of Baltimore homeboys will include Dan Deacon (obviously), Beach House, The DeathSet, Video Hippos, Double Dagger, Nautical Almanac, and twenty-three others. Each stop of the Baltimore Round Robin is taking place over two days, “Eyes Night” and “Feet Night.” Eyes is more indie-folk, improv, noise, theatrics – “music that is spiritual, dreamy,” while “Feet Night” will feature Deacon himself and will feature electronic, dance, punk/hardcore, and rock music.

I’m kind of hoping it winds up looking like this:
